King Angelfish

Description:

The King Angelfish is a striking marine fish admired for its bold pattern and vivid colours. Adults display a deep blue to black body with a bright white vertical stripe and brilliant orange accents on the tail and fins. Juveniles look quite different, with electric blue and yellow stripes that gradually change as they mature, making them a fascinating species to watch develop over time.

Special Note:

This fish is missing its left eye, but it is otherwise super healthy and active.

Aquarium Care Requirements

  • Tank Size: 180 gallons (680 L) minimum for adults.

  • Temperament: Semi-aggressive – can be territorial, especially with other large angelfish.
  • Reef Compatibility: With caution – may nip at corals, especially LPS, SPS polyps, and clams.
  • Special Notes: Provide plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding spaces.
