Shipping & Ordering Policy
At GTA Reef, we stand by our coral livestock guarantee. If your coral arrives dead, our Dead On Arrival (DOA) policy ensures that you are taken care of with store credit or a possible replacement.
ORDERS
- Orders may take up to three days to process after payment has been cleared.
Payments made on Wednesday (after noon EST), Thursday, and Friday will be shipped the following Monday. - Payments made on Saturday and Sunday will be shipped on Tuesday.
- Please ensure that you provide an accurate and safe shipping address during checkout. Double-check your address in the order confirmation to avoid any issues.
Refunds will not be issued for orders where FedEx determines there is no safe location to leave the package. - GTA Reef Inc. is not responsible for lost, misplaced, or stolen packages during transit. FedEx assumes responsibility in these cases, but we will do our best to assist you in resolving any missing package issues.
- We have no control over shipping delays. If there are any delays, please contact FedEx customer service directly for tracking and assistance. We will provide transit information to support you as much as possible.
- Claims will be reviewed individually, which may take up to three weeks. Once FedEx responds to your claim, we can appropriately address the situation. We appreciate your patience as we work with the shipping carrier to resolve any issues.
- Please note that filing a claim does not guarantee compensation or reimbursement from FedEx for lost or stolen packages, but we will assist you throughout the process.
SHIPPING
- Orders will be shipped to the address provided during checkout.
- GTA Reef Inc. does NOT ship to P.O. Box addresses.
- GTA Reef Inc. WILL NOT issue refunds for orders with insufficient, incorrect, or invalid addresses.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable for any reason.
DOMESTIC SHIPPING AND HANDLING
- Shipping within Toronto is a flat rate of $30.00 via FedEx Priority Overnight, delivered by 5:00 PM or sooner.
- Shipping outside of Toronto is calculated at checkout using FedEx Priority Overnight.
- Enjoy free FedEx Priority Overnight shipping on orders over $299 within Ontario and Quebec. For the rest of Canada, free shipping applies on orders over $399.
- Exclusions apply (*): Free shipping does not apply to rural areas.
SALES
- All sales are final.
- Exchanges must be requested at least two days in advance.
- Colour accuracy is not guaranteed, as colours may vary slightly from WYSIWYG items due to differences in light fixtures, settings, and tank environments.
- We do not offer refunds for coral deaths during or after the acclimation process.
DOA Policy
- We guarantee that all livestock will arrive alive and as described. In the event of a Dead On Arrival (DOA), you must contact us within 2 hours of package delivery (based on FedEx's posted time), providing clear photos of the deceased coral inside and outside the shipping bag. Once we receive the photos, we will advise you on handling the DOA. Please do not discard the coral until instructed. Failure to notify us within the 2-hour window will void any guarantees. Refunds will not be issued, but store credit will be provided.
- We will issue store credit for the total purchase price minus shipping charges if the DOA is confirmed. In some cases, we can replace the DOA with the same or a similar item, with the addition of shipping costs.
- We are not responsible for DOAs caused by carrier delays.
- Shipping charges are non-refundable.
- If we cannot replace your DOA with a comparable item, we will issue store credit for the full purchase price of the item, which can be used on our website.
