The CSM 80GPD TFC RO Membrane is a high-performance reverse osmosis filter designed to produce exceptionally pure water with superior rejection rates. Ideal for reef aquariums, freshwater systems, and home RO setups, this membrane removes dissolved solids, heavy metals, contaminants, and impurities before they reach your DI resin—ensuring longer DI life and ultra-stable water quality.
Engineered for efficient production at standard household pressure, the 80GPD capacity provides a perfect balance of output and purity. This makes it a preferred choice for reef keepers who prioritize low TDS, consistent water parameters, and reliable long-term membrane performance.
Compatible with all standard 10" × 2.5" RO membrane housings, the CSM 80GPD membrane is easy to install and delivers dependable, cost-effective filtration for any RO/DI system.
Thin Film Composite (TFC) RO membrane by CSM. The TFC semi permeable membrane rejects wide spectrum of impurities down to .0001 micron. An RO system, which has other components such as sediment and carbon filters is supposed to remove salt and many contaminants from water before reaching the membrane.
This standard size 1.8"x12” element is NSF-certified. It is capable of producing up to 80 gallons per day of pure water. It should be replaced every 2-3 years depending on total dissolved solids (TDS) in the supply water. If TDS is less than 180 mg/L, replace every 3 years. If TDS is above 180 mg/L, replace every 2 years. A TDS hand-held meter can be used to measure the TDS of water. Knowing the TDS of purified water and the supply water, you can calculate the rejection rate of the membrane. If pure water has 50 ppm TDS and the supply water has 300 ppm TDS, then the rejection rate is 83%. A new membrane should have a minimum rejection rate of 90%.
