The Jack-o-Lantern Leptoseris is a stunning encrusting LPS coral with fiery orange coloration and glowing green centers, ideal for shaded areas in your reef tank.

Appearance

Coloration: A vivid, fluorescent orange base paired with neon green mouths, giving it a glowing, pumpkin-like appearance—hence the nickname "Jack-o-Lantern."

Growth Form: Commonly grows in encrusting or plating forms, spreading out in thin, wavy sheets that mould to the contours of rock surfaces.

Texture: Smooth, with delicate ridges extending outward from each polyp mouth.

Aquarium Care Requirements

  • Lighting: Low to moderate. This coral thrives in shaded areas or lower regions of the tank. Avoid direct, intense light, which may cause bleaching or colour loss.
  • Water Flow: Low to moderate. Indirect flow is ideal for preventing detritus buildup while ensuring adequate nutrient exchange.
  • Placement: Place on flat or gently sloping rock surfaces in lower to mid sections of the aquarium. Keep it in partially shaded areas for the best coloration.
  • Feeding: Primarily photosynthetic but benefits from occasional target feeding with fine particulate foods like reef roids, coral dust, or broadcast feeding of phytoplankton and amino acids.
  • Aggression: Peaceful. This coral does not have long, sweeper tentacles and coexists well with other non-aggressive encru
